Freya is old Norse for “lady” and was the name given to the Norse goddess of love. While she certainly sought out passion and pleasure, she was a complex character. In fact, to the Vikings she was a powerful force, a goddess on par with Odin and Thor within the legends of Norse mythology.
While Freya, is most known as the goddess of love , she also  oversaw fertility, battle, and death. The mythology related to her emphasizes her role in all things related to sexuality.
